Rich people, mosquitos, and hippie house
Bon appétit, the world is in a platter!
Hi nerds -
I salute you from Miami, where we’re feeling the heat of summer coming in soon!
Panama elections validated once again that Miami and Madrid are the natural hedge for Latin American political instability. Get You There’s waitlist has since doubled!

👯♀️ Who to befriend: Scott Galloway’s “The Algebra of Wealth” recommends “making rich friends” as a strategy for financial freedom.
I don’t choose my friends based on their net worth, nor do I ever want to.
But this controversial advice does prove an important insight: who we are depends largely on who we surround ourselves with.
We mimic the behavior of those close to us.
They often shape our decision-making.
They influence who we meet next.
We’re all mirrors of each other
🚶🏼♀️ The talent move: There are 270M migrants around the world today.
Out of those, 1.2% of the global population (~140M people) were forced to leave their homes.
Meanwhile, ~67M are considered high-skilled labor - people with advanced education, specialized skills, and ability to adapt quickly.
They have in-demand skills needed by the world’s biggest capital markets to solve the most complex problems.
But in between businesses and talent stands a complex, expensive, lengthy immigration system. It’s time it gets an upgrade.
👩🏻💻 Global tech wars: Europe (who owns 22% of the global tech industry market share) is worth less than US’ (35%) or Asia’s (31%).
Some say it's because of regulation, but Europe's digital economy was not regulated for almost 2 decades.
Others say it’s a compound of 27 markets (with different cultures and languages), especially when compared to the US.
If you ask me, a key reason is immigration laws. Talent attracts more talent.
It’s no coincidence immigrants are cofounders of ~60% of unicorns and hold executive roles in ~80% of them. US immigration is surprisingly higher per capita and more diverse than Europe’s.

"if you think you're too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito."
“The people who were right about Hitler were those who knew the least about him personally.
The people who were wrong about Hitler were the ones who had talked with him for hours.”

This song is the epitome of what I call “hippie house”.
Tribal sounds, a solid base, techno beats, and lyrics I can’t understand.
Thank you for reading. Always down to connecting over juicy ideas.
